Finally, true 3D displays. Soon we’ll be playing 3D holographic chess, and Wookies will be threatening to pull our arms out of their sockets!

Toobless
The week of April 21-27 is National TV-TURNOFF WEEK. Turn off the toob for a week and do something good for your brain!
Free movies in Atlanta
Opening today in Sandy Springs, a new movie theater that a lot of the Gunters will probably find interesting. It’s like the Tara, only with more screens. And a cafe. And old movies too.
If only they weren’t opening Easter weekend, I’d be all over the free movies this weekend!
Bar Stool Racing
I usually don’t repost links to the Gunter Blog from Slashdot, but you must admit that Bar Stool Racing has “Gunter” written all over it.
Saddam Hussein: Wild and Wooly
Shocking revelation, or a late April Fool’s joke?
Saddam Hussein: Gay Porn Star
“There is no doubt in my mind that this is Saddam — there’s no mistaking those eyes and that distinctive nose,” declares Hussein biographer Sadiq al-Sabah of Kuwait, who’s seen the eye-popping footage first-hand.
Apparently, he most frequently used the stage name “Omar Studdif”.
Free Comic Book Day
Cool, Saturday May 3 is Free Comic Book Day!
I was amazed to see that the comic store local to me (Hobbies Plus) is participating.
Fan Club
I was going to post this last week, but the site was overwhelmed, and you wouldn’t have been able to see it anyways. But now they’ve moved it to a new server, and it appears that all is well again. What am I talking about? I’m talking about WeLoveTheIraqiInformationMinister.com, a site dedicated to the irascible Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf!
My favorite quote:
“It has been rumored that we have fired scud missiles into Kuwait. I am here now to tell you, we do not have any scud missiles and I don’t know why they were fired into Kuwait.”
Oh, and he’s got a blog, too!
Poodle Hat
It’s been almost four years, and Weird Al Yankovic finally has a new album coming out. Poodle Hat will be released on May 20.
Bonus Al Sighting: Weird Al should be on The Simpsons this Sunday, April 13.
Party Like It’s 1933
Breweries across the nation are preparing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition, on April 7.
Dog Island
If I was a dog, I definitely would want to live on Dog Island.
